"STEAM ENGINE CAPITAL OF NORTH DAKOTA"
BRIEF HISTORY
Ole Aslakson, Howard Boe, & Ed Anderson - over a cup of coffee - talked about a steam show in New Rockford and, in early 1959, a small group of men with a common interest in mind met and formed the Central North Dakota Steam Threshers organization.
The first official meeting was held on March 31, 1959, with a group of 12 men participating. They were Johan Rossing, James Williams, Ed Anderson, Joe Aas, John Aarestad, George Torrison, Roy Brown, Filo Henssler, George Messner, Ole Aslakson, Howard Boe, and Edgar Mattson.
An election of officers by those 12 men resulted in Ole Aslakson being elected first president of the organization, with Howard Boe being named secretary-treasurer.
Ed Anderson, Johann Rossing, and William Schafer were designated as directors of the new association.
